Medal winners do the club proud!
Hannah Trowsdale (200 Butterfly) and Charlotte Thompson (100 Backstroke) both came home with medals from the English Summer National Championships at Ponds Forge, Sheffield. The girls won their medals on the same day of the Championships. Hannah, competing first, swam well in her heat to make it into the final and Lottie followed her example just a few races later. Both girls came back for the evening finals session determined to do their best and Hannah moved through the field up to 3rd place with 10 Metres to go. She showed real determination to dig deep when it really hurt to overtake her rival and pick up a well deserved silver medal. Not to be outdone Lottie, who is always a tenacious competitor, pushed hard through her 100 Metre backstroke to pick up a bronze medal in new personal bet time and take her first senior club record. Henry Hickson completed a trio of swimmers representing the club and for him it was his fifth year of making the qualifying times. Well done to all our National competitors!
